Deepreed is a hosted document editor with AI-assisted writing features. We provide the service as-is and may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
You need an account to save work. You sign in with your email address and password; the full name on the account is a display name only — it is not unique and never identifies you for access. Names are 3-64 characters: letters and digits, plus hyphens, apostrophes, periods and single spaces between words. Passwords are 8-128 characters. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done under your account.
You own your documents. You grant us only the rights needed to operate the service: storing, syncing, and displaying your content to you. We claim no ownership over what you write.
Spelling & grammar, editing, and chat features send the relevant excerpt of your document to the language-model provider serving the model you chose, to produce the result. Private models are served only by providers we have verified as zero data retention (§4 of the Privacy Policy); Standard models are served by providers under their own terms, which may include retaining prompts, so choose Private for confidential material. Which model you are using is shown in the editor, and its provider is recorded with each AI request. Model output may be wrong: review before relying on it.
Do not abuse the service: no breaking into other accounts, no scraping or overloading the API, no illegal content, no using the service to harm others. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that do.
We aim for reliable service but give no uptime warranty. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost work beyond what our systems retained.
We may update these terms; continued use after a change means acceptance. We will post the new date at the top of this page.

Your account (full name, email address, password hash, session tokens), your documents and their version history, and operational records (usage counts, error logs) needed to run and secure the service. Data is stored on our servers and in your browser for offline work. This includes your conversation with the AI, including the model's reasoning, and applies to every tier.
Passwords are stored only as salted, slow one-way hashes, never in plaintext. We cannot see or recover your password.
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your content with third parties except the language-model provider processing your explicit AI request (§4), or when required by law.
When you invoke an AI feature, the excerpt being processed is sent to the model provider serving the model you chose and handled under that provider's terms. We do not send your documents to model providers at any other time. Private-tier requests go only to a provider that has zero data retention enabled at the organization level for this service: prompts and responses are not retained and are not used for any secondary purpose. Short-lived cache entries may exist to speed up repeated requests, but nothing is kept for training. Standard-tier requests are served by a provider that may retain prompts under its own terms, so choose Private for confidential material. Zero data retention applies to the model provider. Your documents, versions and conversation remain stored on our servers under §1 and §6 until you delete them.
Login uses a session cookie. A visit cookie records that this browser has been here before, and a landing-page note lets a later signup be credited to the page that brought you in; neither carries your name, email address, or any document content, and both expire after a year. Drafts and caches live in your browser so work survives reloads. Clearing site data logs you out, drops the local caches, and makes the next visit look new; server copies remain per §6.
Deleting a document removes it from active serving; backups may retain copies for a limited window. Contact us to request export or deletion of your account data.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to what operating the service requires. No system is perfectly secure: report suspected issues via Help > Contact.
